Chair Assessment

A personal chair assessment consultation is our way of establishing how a Mercado-Medic chair can help potential users to do more for themselves. It will start with a simple Q&A about where the chair will be used, and which tasks are a problem with a regular day chair. Typically, a chartered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or other clinical professional will assist in setting the parameters and objectives for this assignment. Once we know the whole story from the user’s perspective we can start to build up a suitable chair specification. This meeting is an essential part of the service we provide. We know our chairs and how they can improve mobility, but only you know your lifestyle and the limitations you are trying to overcome.

If a demonstration is required as part of the assessment process, then we can bring sample chairs to any suitable location. This could be a place of work, a home or educational establishment. It is as important that we survey the environment where the chair will be used as it is for the user to try the chair and gauge the quality and functionality. We will assess all the physical obstacles like doorways, thresholds, turning areas etc. to get the right chair for the job. The demonstration samples we bring are typical models from our range, but the specified chair can be individually customised to suit just about any application or physical impairment that we encounter.

During our visit we will take a range of personal measurements to ensure that the chair is specified and accessorised to the user’s precise requirements and following this fact-finding stage, we will review the data and submit a detailed quotation for the supply of the chair within 2 days.
